WOW! SEPTEMBER ALREADY!

Spent the summer cleaning the sheds and garage.  Much more empty and orderly now.  Starting to set up a decent wood shop for myself.  I love tinkering in the garage.  Blake is always with me.  His apartment is his memorial library now.  Still have all the cards taped to wall and doorways.  People were/are so kind.  No hurry to take them down or change anything.  Let them fall as the tape wears out.

Lisa in town now, and is Director of KORT Physical Therapy.  That's pretty nice for me, and stressful for her, as she is getting it all organized AND looking for a home to buy in the country but close to town.  I get to babysit Astro every day.  That's pretty cool.  Daisy, Astro, and Hobo the kitty all get along, too!

Don't see much of grandkids, as all busy with sports, Abby with college, and Bumbie with job and college and Ayden. He is an awesome first greatgrandson!  Sara lives in Lebanon, tho, and works at Walgreens so I see her pretty often which is great!

Had a wonderful memorial for Blake at the pond, attended by his two sisters and brother from the east coast and many friends.  It was a great weekend!

I still miss him every day, yet feel his presence and am still very married to him.  We had a very special love and that doesn't end with death.

I don't think anyone really reads my blog, but I guess it helps me to write it.
If you are reading this, thanx.

A lovely cool fall-like day today, and I am soon off on a motorcycle ride.  Here are some pictures.  Picked up many paw paws in back yard the last week, and am beginning to pick up walnuts.  There's a picture or two of a wagon I build with scraps and parts found in shed.  Also a picture of Bell Hollow on the one year anniversary of Blake's death.  Jane Bell and friends brought me out there and this baby squirrel made friends with me! :)

note:  birds planted corn and now squirrels are eating it. :)
Love my flowers!  Healing to work with them!

Champion golfer, Javen, a Senior in High School this year.  Colleges watching him.
 Nice visit from Laurie.
Lisa and Astro playing fetch at Fagan Branch Lake.
Lisa doing what she loves.  She also rows at Fagan Branch.
 Luke took ukulele lessons.

 Paw paws!
 I built out of scraps.

Pict in garage.  He was the world'' greatest grampa!

My Honey is always with me.
 Us girls in 1988
Pa and Luke enjoying their last ice cream cone together.  They have a very special connection.  I actually see a lot of Pa in all the kids and grandkids.  His love, intelligence, integrity, and all his marvelous traits!
What I am made of.
 Look what my aloe made!
Ayden at his mom's birthday party at home.  I love my great grandson!!
Oli and Luke.  Daisy in front.
Granddog, Rocky, Laurie's doggie.

I kayaked a little this summer, built a new dock (for Blake's memorial), mowed in town and at cabin, hiked the mountains of Alaska for a week enjoying glaciers, eagles, new bird songs, fresh mountain air, and local Juneau people.

Stayed in the hostel, got to see a rare Native Alaskan ceremony, and enjoyed hiking!  Very much looking forward to returning!

Winter Storm 2.2015

We haven't had a storm like this since the day Javen was born, Feb. 5, 1998, 17 years ago! We have 13-16" depending on what part of the yard you look at!  Very pretty and too fluffy to make a snowman!

 I shoveled a little.
 Paul shoveled A LOT!

Feb 11, Blake's birthday.

He would have been 71.  Paul took me, Sara, Bumbie, and Ayden to Mex and we celebrated Blake's life and birthday.

Holidays passed

One day at a time, I'm still here.  My mind messes up a lot.  They say part of the grieving process.  Mostly my memory, but I do dumb things, too.  Back into most of my volunteer organizations.

Had nice holidays.  Each daughter and grandkid visited.  That was great!  They are all so nurturing and loving.

It's a new year.  2015 here I come.  The past behind me, today happening now, and future will take care of itself.

I have made plans to go to Juneau, Alaska, for a week in May.  Looking forward to seeing the glaciers before they melt.  Got a real cheap miracle flight from Lexington to Juneau!!  Will stay in hostel:  12/day and 1 chore.  Will do a  day boat trip (was even given great discount!) to see Glaciers calving and whales.  Rest of the time will backpack the trails.  Already making list of minimum to take.  Have talked over an hour with hostel lady, boat lady, and visitors center lady, and we are all great friends.  Can't wait to see each other in person.

I miss my soulmate every second of every day, but I feel him with me often. He comforts and encourages me.

That's all for now.  Thanx for reading!  mary ann  ps:  Blake's cat, Foster, died.  cancer.  Buried him in back yard with his little Christmas stocking marking his grave.  Blake says they are together and happy and at peace.   So it's just Hobo Kitty and Daisy Dog and me now.  Hobo and Daisy miss Pa too, and get along with each other!
