Blake's doll

Blake presenting Jerry Evans, our NAACP President, with a historical doll for the Black History Museum in the old courthouse.

Today

I was blessed to have the opportunity to present our CMA (Christian Motorcycle Assoc.) check for $342 to the Community Food Pantry (Tim Cook, Treasurer, and Brenda Harmon, President). This money was raised in our January 2 Polar Bear Run. Many bikes rode in zero weather to support this good cause, and we were able to also give this amount to the Taylor County and Green County food pantries, also.
Neighborhood snowmen!

Snow angel by gramma (mary ann)  i made 3!
Our good friend, Nightcruiser, came through in his new hybrid ford and bought us brunch!  Great to see him and his little doggie.  Weird to see him not on a motorcycle!  Ice and bikes just don't go together.
Blake doing very well!

today was warm and nice!

Blake working on a project in an upstair apartment.  Laurie came over.  We took a walk, visited Francis Hogan, and had a great day!  Then we all went to Mex for Perry's birthday.  A fun day!  Beautiful sunset, too!

Today's humor

Simple Country Folk Stroll Through Hammatchoo Schmuckmoo Catalog

Someone sent us a gift from a high end catalog and the catalog followed in the mail.  My hubby and I had the greatest laughter all week paging through it!

Where shall we start?  How about the first page!  The Smart Heart Rate Watch.  The watch notes your heart rate and sends it to your smart phone.  Of course!  It’s  too hard to look at your watch when you are running!  You must take out your smart phone!  And, you can do this for only $130!  Ya.

Then there is the no blind spot rear view mirror!  You can see everything in back.  But it’s so big it blocks half the front vision!  And this is a bargain at $60!

On to page 2.  For only $200 you can get a gadget that turns your home lamp on while you are in another country.  I think you can buy a lights timer for $5 at Walmart.

This catalog has to be aimed at people who just like to spend their money!

Oh.  And then there is this $70 light bulb that your iphone can turn on.  Oh I have to have one of those!  Ha Ha HA

You can, for only $700, (such a deal!) get a helmet with 4 little suction cups that massage the top of your head.  Like your own fingers don’t work.  We NEED this $700 helmet!  They even claim it makes your hair grow!  Hey I have a bridge I can sell you, too!

We came across this “Trouser Rack” on the next page.  For all our trousers, of course.  Well, between us we have one pair of trousers.  Also between us, we live in four pair of blue jeans.  BUT, my hubby, being a handyman, once put up a tie rack for a local lawyer.

Next is the $70 ipad pen so u can write and draw on your ipad.  Have people forgotten about paper and pencils!  It’s so much fun to see how the other side lives!

Oh hey!  Here’s a robotic wet/dry mop you can turn loose to run around your floor.  We really need something else to trip on.  And, the best part is, it costs only $300!  Maybe we need two or three!

This catalog also has $100 cat warming  beds.  Our cats don’t like cat beds.  They prefer to sleep on ours.  I put a $5 electric heating pad under our dog bed as little dogs like to be warm.

Wow!  Everyone needs one of these!  A battery powered spinning spaghetti fork!  For only $30 you no longer need to do your own fork twirling!  Amazing!

Oh!  Here’s a scale that talks and says your weight out loud!  Horrors!

Now they have this photo to digital picture converter, a pretty good size machine for $200!  Seems like you could just take a picture with your smart phone to convert it to digital?  Am I missing something here?

The dirt detecting radio frequency robotic vacuum.  You can buy it for only $700 not counting shipping.  It claims to find the dirtiest areas and work harder on them.  It would go crazy in our house with country dirt and pet hair woven into our old rug!  Or it might find the duck tape at the edge of the vinyl that sticks out at the end of the rug and go nuts trying to pick it off!

Can you see this $700 robotic vacuum running around this room!  It sure would provide a lot of laughter!   Laughter is free, tho, and we don’t need to spend $700 to get it.

On the same page is a $80 “gentle boar bristle” hair brush.  I believe Walmart has soft hair brushes for under $10.

This one rates high on the funny list:  A automatic cat litter box.  For the small fee of $400, you can let your litter box drop the cat poop into a box below.  (Which of course you would have to clean eventually, right?)  AND, it looks so strange I am sure our cats would not go near it!  My hubby says he prefers to save the $400 and clean his own litter box.  Proves my hubby has a brain!

His conclusion to all this is:  rich people are stupid.  I don’t know about that, but I would say definitely gullible!  Best laugh we had all day except for this last item:

Identity theft thwarting carbon fiber wallet

It costs $130! Doesn’t make any sense, as we wouldn’t have any money left to carry in it.  And here’s our helpful hint of the day:  put a piece of aluminum foil in your wallet and no one can scan and steal your credit card information.  Cost:  less than one penny.

We sure thank this high end catalog, Hammatchoo Schmuckmoo, for the great laughter today!  If you are reading this, we wish you peace, joy, and love, but most of all, lots of laughter!

Also, we suggest that if you have lots of money, please give it to American Red Cross to help people in disasters.  Twirl your spaghetti with your simple and probably high end fork!  It’s fun!  And if you are in town, stop by  for a good home cooked beans and rice dinner with homegrown veggies!  Ya awl welcome any time! May God bless you!

Chemo finished!

Last (4th) chemo infusion done!  Now it will make the immune system T cells kick the cancer's butt!  He feels good!  YAY!  Oli and Laurie took him today as I am still battling a bad head cold and sinus thing.  Hopefully I will be all better by Tue when we go to see Chemo Blood doctors.  His labs are running really good.

Above is the TV puzzle he was really excited about doing as he knows all the characters!  Below is half finished all by himself!

Storm on it's way and other news

Gonna be colder than it has in 18 years.  We are expecting below zero temps.  It's KY, tho, and will only last a few days.  :)  Here are some recent picts.
Don't know who was snoring louder, Pa or Daisy!  Both napping!
Ran into Ernie, Brown, alias Turtleman, at the post office.  He gave me a picture for Blake and said to tell him he's praying for him.
Finished this bird puzzle.  It's really a great puzzle!  Piece missing when I took picture, but we  found it under Blake's chair.

Here's an old tshirt from when I rode the Trail of Tears on my motorcycle.  Bought this in Waterloo, MS.
 Baby it's cold outside!
Daisy says hi to all and she loves her toy!

Our wonderful great grandson, Ayden, one year old yesterday, Jan. 3, 2014.
I was in NYC With ARC & Hurricane Sandy recovery and missed the birth by one day in getting home.  Went to St. Patricks Cathedral and lit a candle for him.
Here is our backyard owl, which supposedly keeps the birds from pooping on the tenants' cars. ha ha  The owl is special to Blake and I as we were in the company social club called The Owl Club when we both worked at Commercial Union Assurance Company in Kansas City, MO.
Six more days till fourth and last chemo, Friday, 1.10.
Then it will start really kicking the cancer's butt! We appreciate
all prayers!!!  He's tired and wilting some, but overall, ok.
Looking foward to last chemo.
