Black History Celebration Day!

Had a great day!  Had our Black History celebration and the grand opening of the Black History Museum.  We are chairpeople in NAACP, and we helped with all this.  It was very successful!  Great turnout!

We then went to MEX with Perry and Mary Kay to celebrate Jorge's fake birthday.  Ha Ha.  Inside joke.

We opened the back door this morning to find a spaghetti dinner complete with italian bread and chocolate pie!  Found out a few days later that our neighbor, Kathleen, left it.  She's an angel!

Also, a lady from church brought us a homemade loaf of bread!

Blake feeling pretty good.  Stomach not great, and has shooting pain down leg sometimes.  We are still awaiting results of scan, but are living positive and creating that we are cancer free!

He had a couple days of garage tinkering, but it is cold again today, 40's, and supposed to be cold all week.  So indoor tv, reading, scrabble, etc.

Blake and Javen

Javen at Campbellsville Country Club with pro, Mike Keyhoe, getting lesson and getting fitted for new clubs as he as outgrown the old ones.  (He's almost 6'5"!!)
When finished, we played at the park.  While he was with Mike, I did the driving range then practiced putting.  Feels so great to have a nice warm day on the golf course!  That is the closest thing to paradise besides riding the motorcycle!!

Blake stayed home and tinkered on his bike.  He's putting a new battery in.  It's a Beemer and he has to pull the seat and tank to do that!  Ugh!

Blake is feeling better!  We are awaiting scan results, but have decided to live as if we are cancer free!

Javen went and got the movie, The Millers, and we watched it last night.  We laughed our asses off!  What a funny movie!!!

Nice day!

Youngest granddaughter, Anna, 13, 8th grade, awesome athlete, here for weekend!  YAY!  Fun Fun Fun!!

Had chapel church today.  Blake read the scripture.  Retired coach, Sharon Wade and her doggie were there today!  So great to see her!   Rev. Peggy gave Blake a really cool Thomas Merton book for his birthday!
Good day!  We are keeping in mind that this chemo is working hard in his body, ridding him of the cancer.  He is drinking lots of water and being active to get this bad stuff  cleansed from his bod!   Looking forward to the scans Wed, and will be anxious to get results to see where we stand.   Note:  adding this April 24, the scans showed cancer has grown, but he is feeling good.  Just lower energy, shorter breath.  We are so grateful and know the prayers are working!

BLAKE'S 70TH BIRTHDAY !

Had great birthday party Mex with  Perry, Mary Kay, ma, Sara & Paul.  Fun fun!!

Today after carrot juice.  Napping with faithful doggie, Daisy.

My little snowman!

Trip to Lexington VA pretty.  The more north we got, the more snow they had.  Then in Lexington the trees were covered in sparkly ice and broken branches on the ground.

Ice at our house.

All in all, a great day!
Thinking positive and praying A LOT!!

more snow!

Pretty snow falling lightly this morning.

Driveway covered in ice, salt not helping.

Got this catalog in the mail this morn.  Guess we are on their mail list forever since someone sent us a give from it.  Someone buy us one of these cars!  We can do wheelies on our pond!
Blake reading this  catalog while eating his oatmeal.  Greatest laughs all week!  What a comedy catalog this is!!!
Our massage chair really helps us both a lot!  There's a little person in the chair  back who does awesome things with his fingers!  ahhhhhhhh

Anxiously awaiting the scans 2.19.  I am imagining all the cancer gone!!!!
Tue, weather permitting, we have a dermatology appointment for the doctor to check the lump on his finger.  It's inside, not on the skin, so they will refer us to general surgery, but I want to avoid all surgery.  Too risky.  Infections, etc.

Morning after oatmeal, catalog laughter,  massage nap.  My babies. :)
also, got our olympic jackets yesterday!  timely!

BIRTHDAYS! GREAT DAY!

We had a big birthday party today at Mex!  3 Birthdays:  Luke 6, Abby 17, and Javen 16.  The owners of Mex are family and they were really great to the kids!  Song, hats, ice cream, the whole 9 yards!

Here's tired Mom (Oli) resting afterwards.  And below, check out Luke's biker boots!  ha ha!  We had a very short visit, then they left for home to beat the storm, and we headed to our NAACP meeting.

Great to see our NAACP crew!  They even included me in the prayer!  :)
Here's JD, deep in thought!  ha ha
Here's Jerry, our president, showing off Blake's slave doll, which we have contributed to our Black Heritage Center.  Our grand opening with be right after Black History Month Celebration.  I am on refreshment committee.  I am also scholarship committee chairman, but not much to do till after summer.
After this ,we did a quick visit to the funeral home to pay our respects to our good friend and fellow swimmer, Joe Hamilton, 98 years of age.

I fixed a nice supper of humus, lettuce, spinach, tomato sandwich pockets and yummy chicken soup.

All in all, a great day!  Our rain about to turn to snow, and we are cozy.  So is Daisy, fast asleep on her Austin City Limits pillow.

Tomorrow afternoon we have a VA appointment, so we are hoping the roads are ok by then.

SLEEPLESS IN LEBANON

4am. Sleepless night. Venting. Cancer sucks. My heart is breaking.  My soulmate is sick.  We appreciate all the prayers and good friends who love AND support us in our journey.
