Holiday Puzzles

our friend, dave winebrenner, gave us these .  they were very challenging.

and lots of fun!

Christmas pictures

No real news since last post

Enjoying holidays  with kids.  Doing puzzles.  I got an upper molar pulled.  Was abscessed. Could go to specialist in Louisville to save it for $1,000+.  Easy decision!  Pull the damn thing!  :)

Jan. 2 we plan to start at the gym and get some cardio and get our holiday pounds off since we have a $60 gym certificate.  That will give us each 2 mos!

Weather been nice.  upper 40's and sunny.  We hear rain on the way.

Had a friend drown in a flash flood.  Car got washed away.  We attended funeral home yesterday.  Very sad thing.  Don't drive into high water!!

Blake is doing well.  Having fun with puzzles, talked to old friend, Mike Hanlon, on the phone, walking dog, and eating good.

That's about all the news here at Ann's Chateau!  Have a happy new year!

Christmas Eve

We had a lovely chapel service and got to see our dear friend, Francis Hogan.  She's feeling well and attended chapel.  YAY!  Then, a big surprise!  Our Pastor Peggy and Piano Master, Brenda, took us out to dinner!  I had lasagna, and when I got home, there was an email from Lisa in Texas saying she made and was eating lasagna!  We think alike!

 And then........
             we finished our
                                        Christmas puzzle!!!!   :)

And then Santa came and filled the stockings for the children, who will be here tomorrow!  :))

And...just got this picture from my daughter, Lori.  My grandkids on Christmas Eve!  Brody, Anna, Luke riding Abby, and Javen on right.  They are all such terrific kids!!!!
And.....Blake got a phone call from old college friend and fraternity brother, Mike Hanlon!  YAY!!!!

Our youngest grandson (5 yrs old) Lucas

Here's Luke in his Amish  rocking chair we got him from Liberty when he was one or two.  I forget.  Isn't he handsome!!  He's very smart and a super great athlete!  (We aren't bragging grandparents or anything)

Happy Christmas Eve Day!  We plan to have a quiet one and just take cake to our 90 yr old neighbor, George, across the street.

He sent the Reading Woman picture/card this year, and we have the Reading Man picture!
60 degrees out and Blake tinkering in garage and feeling great!  :))

Last night before power went out (storm but we're ok), working a difficult and challenging Christmas puzzle!  Lots of snow and sky!

Last night we celebrated 5 years of not drinking alcohol or smoking pot!  Here's Blake and sponsor, good friend, and fellow viet nam vet, Willie.  We celebrated with a great and loving bunch of friends who are also clean and sober and life is really good today!  :))

Third Chemo yesterday, VA, Lexington

The chemo infusion room was full yesterday.  It was so sad.  All old guys, Viet Nam vets, being treated for cancers related to Agent Orange.  Wars really suck!  The nurses were very kind and there were 2 baskets of hand knit hats for those who lost their hair.  :(

They were very behind and slow due to staff taking off for Christmas Holidays and it being full, so we got to work on patience.

The highlight of the day was Erskine, our dear friend, visiting us!  He rides a BMW and teaches at UK and we were so glad to see him!  He managed to talk me into leaving the area.  He took me to the food coop.  That was great! I got wheat grass for the cats and one of our favorite drinks, keifer, a yogurt drink.
We then went and met his acupuncture office and acupunctuists.

When Blake was done with chemo, he lead us, him on bike, us in car, in the light drizzle, to a great restaurant called Saul Good and bought us dinner!

The holiday traffic  in Lexington was totally crowded and horrid, but that didn't bother Erskine a bit!  He's a very experienced rider and has done most of the USA & Canada many times!

Erskine made our 3rd chemo a great day and we are so grateful!  We love and appreciate Erskine so much!

This morning, the day after chemo, Blake is sleeping in.  I know it was a really big day for him.  He has a new bump on his finger reminding us the battle of his life is going on in his body.  We appreciate all the prayers.

Ohsol family pictures - Christmas time

Got some nice holiday family pictures in the mail today from Blake's brother, Fred, in North Carolina and Florida, sister, Allison in Virginia, and sister, Betsy, in Delaware.  What a great family we have!  We feel so blessed!

Moonshiners

I record stuff on tv then watch it later and fast forward thru the commercials. Last night, I saw I had a bunch of Moonshiners, Discovery Channel, recorded so I started watching one. They are doing Limestone Branch Distillery right here in Lebanon. We have a NC moonshiner here doing it legally with the manager, a guy named Steve. They bump heads all the time! It's hilarious!  Steve is all about paperwork, documentation, doing everything proper and legal, and the moonshiner just flies by the seat of his pants, driving Steve crazy.  AND it's right here in Lebanon, KY!  It's the new distillery they built on the new bypass.  A branch of Jim Beam.  We are all about Bourbon around here, and now they created a "Bourbon Trail" tourist attraction which is bringing the area lots of tourist $$.

Nice day again today!

The day started out with a great visit from Bob Reilly & wife, Al, who brought us Thai cookies made by Al.  It was a nice day, so after they left,
we went out to the cabin, and took a nice walk through the woods to Bernd's.
He made us coffee and gave us bread from his German bakery in Louisville.  Yumm!
Daisy dancing around on his porch when we first arrived.  She loves Bernd.

Blake and Bernd enjoying the maps Joan made of Eftspan, our 300 acre meditation/wildlife retreat.
Bernd, Denise, & Camille then and how.  We cherish our dear old friends.
Many good fun memories throughout the years.  That is our true riches.
Home again after a wonderful day of country.

Blake enjoying Brown's bishop bread, ma's fruit smoothie, and our puzzle.
Almost finished with another one!  We are official puzzle freaks!
