Grandkids talked him into it and are teaching him. He knows how to message now and enjoys it, so if u r so inclined, his cell is 270-699-1132.

Woke to beautiful sunny day. Slowly become aware of surroundings and realize my dreams were just dreams. I didn't lose my car keys, and I didn't go back to school and become a lab tech!
Last of flowers froze last night, but temperatures already rising. Expect near 60 today! YAY! Daisy dog woke me at 8am, and I turned on local radio station on radio next to my bed. Cataract surgery eye drops, 5 min each, for local and national news. Take Daisy out, give her morning treat she loves, a little Science Diet canned food.
After shower, check on Blake who is sleeping later these days. Had had some leg cramps, but none last night. Just increased his approved by the chemist slo-mag a little. He lost his wallet in his dreams. ha ha
We started a jig saw puzzle last night. It is a winter family ritual. No one can resist, and we have awesome family time around the puzzle table. When he sees the first winter puzzle he is always excited and ready to dig in. Last night was different. He was genuinely surprised and exclaimed, "Wow! 1,000 pieces? Shouldn't we do like 300? WOW! Look at all those pieces!"
I hear a lot in this. It reflects the changes we are going through since evil cancer invaded our lives. It reflects fear. One piece at a time, one minute at a time, one day at a time, we WILL have a happy long winter with plenty of time to finish that puzzle!!! :))
Looking forward to my Red Cross board meeting this afternoon, and Blake looking forward to a visit from our dear friend, Brown.

We've come a long way, baby!
Wed evening 11/13/13
Having a good week. Peaceful, restful, and feeling good. Put our little Christmas decorations up early. Blake is eating and sleeping well. In this cold weather he says he is enjoying reading books he never had time to read. Comfy in his chair, his 2 cats for sidekicks.
I cooked him his "scrapple" today. His sister brought it last week from the east coast. It's made up of pig snouts and all icky things and he loves it. I tried a bite. That was plenty! Since I have had cataract surgeries and have one more week of eye drops, I am wearing reading glasses which hang on my chest when not in use.
This afternoon I put them on to read something and here was a huge hunk of scrapple on the lens! Jeez.
We are managing to keep ourselves laughing anyway!!
Our good buddy, Donna Mattingly, gave us the best homemade sausage we have ever had, and we enjoyed eating that today, along with soup I made from her good garden veggies she generously gave us!
About to turn in now. Feeling at peace. I just cry a lot these days. But I am counting my many blessings. Family, friends, and love. God is good.

MELONOMA
10.28 MA telling Blake of horrid life changing phone call. Cat & Pet Scans back. Stage IV advanced agressive metastasized melanoma. Lymph, neck, lungs, abdomen, & bone.
November 8, 2013, today, Blake started a series of 4 chemo (YERVOY) treatments at VA in Lexington for advanced metastasized stage IV Melanoma. VA is using a chemo just approved from clinical trials. New for Melanoma, which is a very different, sneaky, and unique cancer. I researched Vanderbilt, Houston, Chicago, and NY. We are so fortunate and blessed to have VA/UK working with us and having this latest breakthrough drug! We have a super team of VA/UK doctors working with us and have complete confidence that we will extend his life and quality of life with this team.
I woke at 5:30am to get ready to take him and scared myself in the mirror! Covered in raised bumps! Itching fiercely! Had to go to ER. They think allergy to turkey mite medicine and stress! ugh!
Daughters, Lori and Laurie took him, and his first treatment went well. I am medicated, itching, and crying. Please send prayers for Blake. (me, too, if time)
